It’s officially fall now! This is the best season to appreciate the nature, as well as to enjoy cultural activities in the city. So, to help you plan your outings, Hotel Y Montréal has organized a list of events not to be missed in October and November.
Fall means nature within the city
First, a good way to get in the mood is to take a walk in any Montreal park to enjoy the beautiful colored trees. Among many options, Hotel Y Montreal suggests you to visit Botanical Garden, particularly before October 31st. That’s because you can enjoy the traditional Gardens of Light event and this year the park has a new route though the three cultural gardens: the Chinese Garden, the Japanese Garden and the First Nations Garden.
At the same time, from October 6th, Espace pour la vie will open its Great Pumpkin Ball event, a family activity that will get you right into the Halloween spirit. In this exhibition, the visitor will find over 800 pumpkins of all sizes and a selection of interactive activities.
When fashion comes to be affordable
So, this is a great opportunity to renew your wardrobe. You can get discounts between 50% and 80% on all collections, from ready-to-wear to exclusive creations.
Sport season is back!
This is a very popular event, so don’t lose time to choose your accommodation in Montreal, because hotel rooms are always busy at this time of the year.
If you prefer to watch a different kind of sport, a wonderful option would be the FIG 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships which will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal from October 2nd to 8th. During the seven days of competition, more than 500 gymnasts from 80 countries will perform a big show.
Movies Fall Festivals
Throughout the season, a wide variety of festivals will be on display for movie fans. The options include animation movies, the Francophone film festival, the Image + Nation, a festival about sexual diversity and the RIDM, a documentary movies event.
Hotel Y Montréal would give a special mention to the Festival du nouveau Cinema which surprises the public, year after year, by its original, audacious and technological films.
Music for everyone
At the musical field, Hotel Y Montréal proposes at least five interesting events that will be on the program this fall:
To appreciate the local music, begin by discovering Quebec jazz groups at the OFF Jazz Festival, between October 5th and 14th. After this, have fun at the Coup de cœur francophone festival, between November 2nd and 12th.
For those who like to dance and party and also would like to contribute to an organization that helps people with HIV / AIDS, the ideal suggestion would be to attend the Black & Blue Benefit Festival.
But if music is part of your job, keep following the news about two important events that will unite artists and industry professionals. Both the Mundial Montreal festival and the M pour Montreal festival will highlight important themes on the contemporary music industry, as well as present several local and international new artists.
Fine cuisine yes, low prices yes!
Hôtel Y Montréal recommends the foodies to save the date for the MTL à TABLE festival. At it’s 6th edition, the event will take place from November 2nd to16th in 175 restaurants. The chefs promise a wide offer of recipes inspired by Quebec kitchen at affordable prices.
For vegan people, an even better option will be the Montreal Vegan Festival, whose objective is beyond gastronomy. This festival has planned a dozen conferences to discuss different aspects of a way of living without animal exploitation. The event will happen on November 4th and 5th at Bonsecours Market.
